Bigmow®

With batteries that give it almost 2 hours of mowing time depending on the load, Bigmow® goes and recharges itself when necessary.

Being powered by electricity makes it a discreet, economical and non-polluting ally in maintaining lawns up to two hectares.

Based on the “mulching” principle, BIGMOW® mows continuously. The grass clippings reduced to fine particles, break down on the soil thus improving fertility.

Endowed with two main modes of operation: systematic and random, BIGMOW® mows the whole area with, in random operation, a minimum of three passes per week over each square metre of grass, whatever its configuration.

BIGMOW® covers its working area at a speed of 3.6 km/hour. Equipped with sonar that detects obstacles a minimum of 40 cm high, it slows down as it approaches obstacles in its path, brushes against them with its “touch-sensitive bumper”, manoeuvres and heads off again in a different direction.

Its 5 “floating” cutting heads give results very close to those achieved by cylinder mowers, and all this over a width of close to 1 metre.

Its ultraviolet resistant ABS bodywork is fitted to a tubular aluminium chassis.

Its lightness and the technological solutions used in BIGMOW® mean that its energy consumption is equivalent to that of a domestic refrigerator: 500 KwH / year. Its light weight means that it does not leave any marks on the lawn..

Technical specification

Performance
Working speed 1 meter/second on level open ground, its speed reducing to 0.3 meter/second when its sonar detects an obstacle higher than 40 centimetres..
Cutting height 22 mm – 95 mm
Cutting width 105 cm
Slope Maximum slope of 30%
Power 3 NiCd 24 volts – 15 Ah capacity battery “packs”
Consumption 200 – 750 kWh per year – according to the area being mown
Dimensions Width: 120 cm – Length: 120 cm – Height: 50 cm
Weight 48 kg (batteries included)
Systems
Safety Combined operation of sonar, a touch sensitive bumper and backwards movement sensors enable it to cope with all types of obstacle (mobile or stationary).
Movement Stop and reversal of direction of travel on encountering an obstacle.
Propulsion 45 cm diameter driving wheels with non-slip tyres driven by a 24 volt DC brushless motor.
Steering Direction controlled by wheel speed difference
Cutting system Five floating cutting heads each fitted with retractable blades driven by a 24 volt brushless motor at a speed of 3,500 rpm. Self-cleaning system by expulsion of clippings via a centrifugal effect.
Bodywork Green-dyed ultraviolet resistant thermoformed ABS
Charging station Equipped with a 30 volts AC charger and a signal light to indicate malfunction, it provides the very low voltage (50 milliamps) required for the boundary wire. It should be connected to a standard power source (220 or 110 volts) by a 1.5 mm2 mains wire and protected by a residual current device according to standards in use.
