The project
The Belrobotics project was born in 2002 out of the meeting of two men: André Colens, a civil engineer, and designer, among other things, of the mowing robot and Michel Coenraets, industrial engineer and founder of Automatic Systems..

The company’s capital, 100% held by Belgian shareholders, is owned by private individuals and Nivelinvest S.A., regional investment company
Figures and key-dates
- 2000 : initial testing of Bigmow® by André Colens and his team.
- 2002 :
- founding of Belrobotics S.A. with capital of € 1,500,000 and the purchase of the operating licence for Bigmow® and .
- Incorporation of the team involved in the development of Ballpicker®Bigmow® into Belrobotics
- 2004 :
- start of the mass production and marketing of Bigmow® robot lawnmowers in Belgium.
- start of Belrobotics export programme and the first sales in France and Switzerland.
- capital increased to € 2,250,000 following an increase of € 750,000.
- Belrobotics employs 19 people.
- 2005 : development of the “export” programme with the signing of distribution agreements covering Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Canada and the United States.
- 2006 :
- development of the product range and the introduction of Ballpicker® and Parcmow®.
- capital increased to € 3,400,000.
- signing of distribution agreements for Italy, Germany and Denmark.
- 2007 :
- Henri Thijssen takes over from Michel Coenraets in the day to day management of Belrobotics
- October : New shareholders Eric Mestdagh, Pierre Rion and Laurent Minguet join the company; the capital is increased to 4.400.000 €
