The idea of the robotic lawnmowers, as we know them today, originated in the mind
of a Belgian engineer in the late 80's. After years of research and development, the
first Bigmow appeared in 2002.
2005 – 2009 Growth
- Development of the European sales network
- Product line extension: Parcmow, Greenmow, Ballpicker
- Entry into the business by well-known capital investors: Eric Mestdagh, Pierre Rion and Laurent Minguet.
2009 – 2011 Leading Service for sports grounds
- More than 200 grounds including football, rugby and golf in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and Belgium

1992 – 2002 Pioneering Years
- 'Solar and Robotics', founded by André Colens in 1991, to commercially produce its
inventions and which develops machine technology, produces the high powered
robotic mower as well as a series of other robotic applications, such as domestic
robots and vacuum cleaners and the golf ball collector.
2002 Starting point
- The highly regarded Belgian entrepreneur, Michel Coenraets, signs an agreement
with André Colens, for the takeover of the 'Solar and Robotics' robotic mower
business together with its best assistants, and hence the birth of Belrobotics.
2003 – 2004 The early days
- Industrial development of the Bigmow
- First sales in Belgium, France and Switzerland.
